Just the latest..

I'm going to try to keep updating this blog more often now that I'm pregnant. Every day just seems to bring new things. Yesterday, it was the yucky feeling I got after eating a burger and fries. Today, I woke up feeling a little bit of pain in my side like I've never felt before. It wasn't too painful, but it just felt different than anything else I can think of. I'm glad I feel different, because it actually helps me realize the pregnancy test was right.

At first I enjoyed all the attention I got from being pregnant, but now it's just starting to get on my nerves. I like the attention from close family and friends, but it gets old to have other people bugging me about it all the time. I've already discovered that a few things REALLY get on my nerves. The first one is when someone says "I knew you were pregnant a few weeks ago!!!". First of all, that's not possible because I conceived this child about 2 weeks ago. Second, isn't it a little bit rude to tell a pregnant woman that you could tell that her mood changed when she got pregnant? (Vince tells me I didn't really start showing ANY pregnancy signs till last week or so... and he would know because he's my husband) The second thing is when someone asks "So when are you going to announce it to everyone else?" It doesn't bug me if it's asked once... but when someone keeps asking me that over and over and over, then it gets old.

The good thing is, even though I feel irritated at people sometimes, it actually doesn't show. I feel bad about it, but Vince says that I'm still acting bubbly and happy no matter what, so I guess those feelings are hidden well enough beneath the surface. I just hope they don't come out and hurt somebody, because the last thing I want to be is a nasty mean pregnant woman!

  1. Kathie, if people get hurt, it's probably something that they just need to get over.

About all the questions and people saying they knew, you'll just have to deal with that one...it happens to all of us lol. However, that doesn't mean that it isn't annoying. Some days it will bug you worse than others. Just wait till complete strangers (even men) think that because you are pregnant your belly is community property and they can touch it. And then people will be full of unwanted advice and questions AFTER you have the baby too.

However, the most important thing is to enjoy the little miracle growing inside of you.

  3. It's only going to get worse--like when people start feeling the need to comment on the shape of your body including your chest size.
